Abstract

Objective To discuss the MRI findings of intracranial hypotension syndrome(HIS). Materials and Methods Imaging findings of 5 cases with IHS were retrospectively analyzed.Among them, brain plain CT scanning, pre and post contrast brain and spinal MRI scanning and brain MRV scanning were performed in 1 case.Pre and post contrast brain MRI scanning were performed in 3 cases.Pre and post contrast spinal MRI scanning was performed in 1 case. Results The CT findings of 1 case were normal.Diffuse thickening and obvious enhancement of cerebral dura in 4 cases on brain MRI scanning were found and downward sagging of brain in 1 case was dipicted.Expansion of superior sagittal sinus, straight sinus and transverse sinus were found in 1 case on MRV.Diffuse thickening and obvious enhancement of spinal dura were found in 2 cases on spinal MRI scanning. Conclusion Dura diffuse thickening and enhancement are characteristic imaging manifestations of IHS.Enhanced MRI is a sensitive imaging method for diagnosis of IHS.
