Abstract

MAPK signaling transduction is a key pathway of cellular proliferation and apoptosis regulation. The abnormality of the pathway is related to many tumor and proliferative diseases. So MAPK can serves as a molecular target for diseases treatment. Four pathways of MAPK signaling transduction have been identified at present; ERK1/2, JNK, P38 and ERK5, among which ERK5 MAPK signaling transduction is a relatively new one. This article reviews the advances in the research of features, functions and of ERK5 MAPK signaling transduction and its relationship with human diseases.
