Abstract

A seismic interpretive method is applied to process interwell tracing data to determine residual oil saturation in a reservoir The method is optimized by combining the advantages of both numerical and analytical method, such as to determine the distribution of reservoir pressure and flow line with numerical method;to decide the distribution of residual oil saturation which is most consistent with a specific layer by comparing automatically the simulated and measured output concentrations; to find other parameters with method of material balance; and to offer an average value as a basis or reference with analytical method An analysis of dynamic data from well group Qian 3 9 in Gangdong oilfield and the distribution of residual oil saturation demonstrates that the method is favorable to evaluate the block's residual oil distribution in waterflooding area
