Zhang Guruo's Translation of Tess of the D'Urbervilles and the Chinese National Literature

As translated works of literature have been regarded as a form of literary works in China, it is of practical significance for us to rerecognize Zhang Guruo's translation of Tess of The D'Urbervilles from the perspective of translation literature. By analyzing Zhang's translation opinions on the mediatranslation of other cultures, author studies, and retainment and transmission of the Chinese culture as reflected in his translation, this article attempts to explore the undeniable influence of Zhang's translation on the enrichment and development of Chinese national literature.
