A Review on the Study of ZHOU Zuo-ren

Abstract

ZHOU Zuo-ren is one of the masters of modern Chinese literature.The study of his life is actually the study of the literary career throughout his whole life.Up to now the study of ZHOU Zuo-ren is still one of the hot topics both at home and abroad,with many fruitful achievements,covering wide and extensive aspects of his works and lives.Moreover,the research works on his achievements also exhibit the different features of times.But the present research is inadequate in many aspects: how to give a correct evaluation on the significance of ZHOU Zuo-ren in terms of literary history is to be decided;the study of ZHOU Zuo-ren′s influence on contemporary Chinese is somehow ignored;and the study on the wisdom and intelligence reflected throughout ZHOU Zuo-ren′s work needs to be further explored.
