Abstract

The source of inclusion in the continuous casting slab and reoxidation during the pouring process are analyzed.The measures of inclusion removal and control in the tundish in advanced steelmaking plants at home and abroad(such as Nippon Steel,JFE,Corus,Dillinger,Posco and Baosteel)are introduced.The conclusion is:the structure of the tundish can be optimized by increasing the capacity of tundish,using the type of H tundish or centrifugal flow tundish;secondary pollution during tundish free-opening can be controlled by using tundish sealed argon blowing technology;slag entrapment can be prevented by using vortex controllers;secondary pollution of molten steel can be reduced,reoxidation can be prevented,inclusion floatation can be promoted and the quality of steel can be improved by adopting alkaline linings and alkaline covers,tundish non-oxidation baking and electromagnetic induction heating,tundish continuous vacuum casting treatment and electromagnetic filtration.
