Abstract
Comparisons on parthenogenetic activation were made among two electrochemical and four chemical methods for bovine oocytes matured in vitro .The results indicated that the cleavage rate of oocytes was 24 4% when the oocytes were only treated with ionomycin, while it significantly increased when the oocytes were treated with ionomycin +6 DMAP+CB and ionomycin +CHX+CB(78 1% vs 75 3%)( P 0 01).However the cleavage rates of oocytes activated by different electric pulses +6 DMAP+CB varied little( P 0 05).These results showed that the chemical methods were more convenient than the electrochemical methods although the former had 4 8% less of cleavage rate than that of the latter.
