Abstract
The government-led tourism development model has gained good economic returns and social benefits over the past years in the One-Thousand-Household Xijiang Miao Village.This paper argues that in terms of economics and anthropology the model is successful due to a synergy of factors such as coincidence,government's role,options available and village culture.
