Abstract

Objective:To investigate objective regular pattern of distribution and characteristic of TCM syndrome in elderly hypertension(EH)for syndrome criterion.Methods:187 literatures were extracted and divided into EH group and control group according to the principles of epidemiology and evidence-based medicine. The syndrome data were managed by descriptive analysis and chi-square test with SPSS13.0.Results:The common TCM syndromes in EH group according to composing ratio were Deficiency of Yin Inducing Hyperactivity Yang,Kidney-qi Deficiency,Excessive Accumulation of Phlegm-dampness,Collateral Obstruction by Blood Stasis,Liver-fire Hyperactivity,Phlegm and Blood Stasis,Liver-kidney Yin Deficiency,Liver-yang Hyperactivity,Liver-yang Hyperactivity, which have significant difference from control group. Conclusion:TCM syndrome distribution of EH has its unique regular pattern.Kidney-qi Deficiency is the basic pathogenesis and common syndrome of EH.
