Abstract
Deng Duo's Wan Shan Ye Hua and San Jia Cun Zha Ji by one of his contemporary writers,together with Wu Han's historical play Hai Rui Dismissed from Office should be analyzed objectively in terms of politics and pure academic learning.As a matter of fact,an official as he was,Wu Han boasted similar human feelings with ordinary and upright intellectuals in that they had internalized into their own personality the modern notion of science and democracy formed and spread since the May 4th Movement as well as the moral self-discipline of traditional Chinese intellectuals in their concern over their country and the era,thus having enabled to pass the spirit of personality from generation to generation.
