Hu Shi Deserved No Praise in Genesis of New Poetry

Vernacular has a long history in China.In Dynasties of Tang,Song and Yuan,some verses were found.In Ming and Qing dynasties,more and free versed appeared.Some of lyrics of school songs were new poetry,which can also be found in translated since latter half of 19th century and among poets of the South School.Despite of Trial Poems(Chang Shi Ji),which was commented by himself as on shoe samples,the blood of feet binding can be still smelled,Hu Shi had no typical or classical poetic works,and flag of vernacular poetry he held was only historic contribution he made.The May Fourth Period might be more enlightening for modern new poetry,if only Chinese Poetry of Vernacular Verse,produced by selecting poems of past dynasties and translated literary works had presented mature and classical poems,it surely could better serve its enlightening and demonstrating functions and help modern new to establish a profound status and enlighten its direction.Therefore,Chinese new would have been developing more smoothly.
