Abstract

The complex [Co2(BTC)2(Phen)2(H2O)4].[Co(H2O)6].CH3OH.2H2O(H3BTC as benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid,Phen as 1,10-phenanthroline)was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, element analysis and infrared spectrum. The Thermostability of the complex was studied by TGA.The result shows that the crystal structure belongs to triclinic system, space group P-1 with a =0.845 81(14) nm,b =0.929 30(16) nm,c = 1.670 1(3) nm,α= 98.055(3)o,β= 102.143(3)o,γ= 104.939(3)o,V= 1.213 4(4) nm3,Mr= 1 199.66,Dc=1.642 g/cm3,Z=1,μ(Mo Kα)=1.108 mm-1,F(000) =617,R=0.035 5,wR=0.083 7.The asymmetrical structure unit of the crystal consists of two six-coordinational cobalt(II) centers, which locate in octahedron CoN2O4 and CoO6 respectively and form dinuclear anion [Co2(BTC)2(Phen)2(H2O)4]-2 and mononuclear cation [Co(H2O)6]2+.The anion and cation are linked further by hydrogen bonds(O―H...O) to three dimensional metal-organic framework.
