Abstract

Objective: To investigate the Shibaishenbai Decoction for ulcerative colitis.Methods:160 cases of ulcerative colitis patients were divided randomly into the observation group and the control group.80 cases of observation group was used Shibaishenbai Decoction retention enema. The control group was given gentamicin,Sulfasalazine plus yellow pyridine metronidazole retention enema. The clinical efficacies were compared in 2 groups. Results:The clinical symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucus blood and pus average improvement of 6 indicators were significantly shorter than those of the control group. The clinical cure rate, the total efficiency significantly higher relapse rate after 1 year follow-up were significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion:Shibaishenbai Decoction retention enema for ulcerative colitis is safe with no side effects. The recurrence rate is low and good clinical value.
