Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between the Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infections and the incidence of gastric cancer so as to search for a new approach to prevent and treat the gastric cancer in early stage.METHODS By means of the matched case-control study, the incidence of Hp infections in 100 gastric cancer patients,100 chronic superficial gastritis patients and 100 normal people was analyzed.RESULTS The incidence of Hp infections in the case group and the atrophic gastritis group were significantly higher than that of the control group(79% vs 42%,74% vs 42%),the incidence of the infections caused by Hp carrying CagAIgG+ was significantly higher than that of the control group(60% vs 12%,56% vs 12%),the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);as compared with the control group, the incidence of the Hp infections of the case group was increased significantly;the incidence of Hp infections in the patients with early gastric cancer or advanced gastric cancer was significantly higher than that of the patients of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);the incidence of Hp infections in the non-cardia gastric cancer patients was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.05).CONCLUSION It is of great significance in the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer in the early stage that the correlation between the Hp infections and the incidence and development of gastric cancer is made clear.
