A reassessment of the status and value of Liu Yi Shi Huain Chinese poetics

Abstrcat In the history of China′s literary criticism studiying, Liu Yi Shi Hua by OUYANG Xiu of the North Song Period, has recaved academic attention of varying degrees; yet for decades, the evaluation of its status in poetics has remained highly problematic. This paper presents a comprehensive and systematic reassessment of its status and value in classical Chinese poetics.The evaluation is conducted from four dimensions, namely, its significance in creating a genre, its representation of the unique features of Chinese literary criticism, its transmission of traditional literary theories, and its value as historical resources for Chinese literary studies.
