Abstract

The anatomical structures and differences of leaves of four species of Syinga were studied by using the method of paraffin section and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM).The results showed that: the leaf structures of 4 species were bifacial type, but some significant differences exist among the four in the aspects of the number of the palisade tissue, the ratios of palisade tissue to spongy tissue and primary vein structure. The order of the ratio of palisade tissue and spongy tissue in 4 Syringa L.is:Syringa villosa S.microphyllaS.reticulataS.oblate.The drought-resistant ability of Syringa.Villosa is the strongest among these 4 of Syringa L.,the second is S.reticulata, the weakest is S.microphylla.
