Abstract
Speech act theory is an important component of pragmatics. We can better improve our speech act competence through investigation of speech act. Undoubtedly, speech act theory has great inspiration for language research. However, it is clearly that language theory cannot absolutely build on the foundation of speech act theory. There are still some problems in speech act theory need us to investigate.
