Abstract
Objective: To evaluate short-term clinical effects of Prosima pelvic floor reconstruction in treating pelvic organ prolapse. Methods: Forty women underwent the surgery for combined defect of pelvic floor who were admitted to our hospital from November,2010 to October,2011. The patients were divided into two groups: 20 cases were in Gynecare Prolift System surgery and the other 20 in the group of Prosima System surgery. Statistical analysis was conducted for clinical data of the two groups. Results: The operative hemorrhage of Prosima group [( 100. 5 ± 55. 6) mL]was less( P 0. 001)than that of Prolift group[( 184. 9 ± 59. 7) mL]; The operation time of Prosima group [( 46. 3 ± 15. 4) mins]was shorter( P 0. 001) than that of Prolift group [( 71. 5 ± 20. 17) mins]; The average hospitalization time of Prosima group[( 5.5 ±1.5) days]was shorter( P 0.001) than that of Prolift group [( 8.0 ±2.8) days]; The case of postoperative pain was 0 in Prosima group while that of prolift group was 16. Conclusion: Prosima pelvic floor reconstruction is a microinvasive and efficient procedure with few complications.
