A PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION OF MONTHLY MEANSEA LEVEL CHANGES AND THE EFFECTS OFMAJOR FACTORS IN THE COASTAL AREASOF THE BOHAI SEA AND NORTHHUANGHAI SEA

Abstract

In this paper we make a preliminary analysis of the seasonal and the long-term changes in the coastal areas of the Bohai Sea and North Huanghai Sea,laying special stress on analysing the relativity between the seasonal changes of monthly mean sea level and various hydrographic and meteorological factors.The results show that the major factors which influence the seasonal changes of monthly mean sea level are static pressures and winds,and then water temperatures.In addition,the effects of longperiod component tides on the long-term changes of annual mean sea level are also introduced in the paper
