Abstract

AIM:To study pharmacokinetics of ferric acid(FA) in rat after oral administration of Radix Angelica Sinensis, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and their compound proparations (fushousan). METHOD: Radix Angelica Sinensis, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and fushousan were given to rats by ig, concentrations of FA in plasma were determined using HPLC method and main pharmacokinetic parameters were estimated. RESULT:Peak concentration of FA in rat plasma occurred at 5 min after ig Radix Angelica Sinensis, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and fushousan. Half-lives were 88.5±23.1,70.9±14.3 and 67.9±22.4 min, respectively. There existed significant( P 0.01) differences in plasma concentration and AUC of FA among Radix Angelica Sinensis, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and fushousan. The values of normalized AUC _ 180 by dose of FA were 4375.8±1663.7, 9866.5±2689.5 and 2084.1±405.9 ng·min/ml respectively. The values of normalized c _ max by dose of FA were 108.7±33.4, 317±181.3 and 39.5±17.9 ng/ml. CONCLUSION:There existed large differences in absorption content of FA in rat after ig Radix Angelica Sinensis, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and fushousan.
