Patch Characteristics of Vegetation Landscape in Moerduo Mountain Nature Reserve of Sichuan Province

Based on remote sensing images,patch characteristics of vegetation landscape in the Moerduo Mountain Nature Reserve have been analyz by using GIS technology and landscape indices.The results show that: There are 9 vegetation types in this reserve with 1 610 patches and 56990 hm2 of area.Mixed coniferous and deciduous broad-leaved forest is the background of the area because of its biggest distribution area,inlaid with other vegetation patches,and together with the sub-alpine coniferous forest,screes sparse vegetation,shrub of dry valley makes up the four dominating vegetation landscape elements in the reserve,and other vegetation patches are surrounded by it.Sub-alpine and alpine meadows are of the lowest heterogeneity degree for its smallest area,lowest patch number and less disintegration.Compared with other reserves,high species richness,dominance and diversity,typical dominant vegetation are found to be the main features of the vegetation landscape in this reserve.Because the impact of human activity in that area is low,the ecological environment is well protected.
