Abstract
Vagueness is an inherent feature of language.Vague language can be easily found in literary works.From the linguistic level,it can be divided into semantic and pragmatic vagueness.Vagueness in Chinese literary works are mainly caused by the linguistic characteristics of Chinese,the basic features of literary words and readers' different understanding of the source text.
