Abstract
Objective:To study the effects of mild hypothermia on brain edema and expression of s100β in rats,so as to research the effect of mild hypothermia during different time on cerebral resuscitation. Methods:The model of resuscitation was established by modified asphyxiation,50 SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group, normal temperature group, and mild hypothermia group. The expression of s100β and the brain water content were measured at the return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) 1.5,3,6 and 12 hours. Results: The brain water content of mild hypothermia group was lower than those of the normal temperature group(P0.05)at ROSC 6 hours. The expression of s100β of mild hypothermia group at ROSC 1.5h,3h were lower than that of the normal temperature group(P0.05).But on the expression of s100β,there were no significance differences between mild hypothermia group and the normal temperature group at ROSC 6 h,12 h.Conclusions: Mild hypothermia can release the brain edema, decrease the damage to the blood brain barrier, and have well protection to the brain. But the effect of protection will reduce after ROSC 6h.
