Abstract

Objective To observe the expression of microRNA-100(miR-100) in serum of gastric cancer patients, and explore the relation and clinical significance between its expression and its clinicopathologic features. Methods Real time quantitative reverse transcription-pdymerase chain reaction was performed to detect the expression of miR-100 in the serum of 30 patients with gastric cancers and 30 healthy adults.Furthermore, the associations between miR-100 expression in serum of patients and the clinicopathologic features were analyzed. Results The expression level of miR-100 in serum of gastric cancer patients was significantly higher than that of healthy adults(P0.05).The expression level of miR-100 in serum of patients was significantly associated with tumor differention(P0.05),but it was not correlated with gender, age, clinical stage, and lymph node metastasis status(P0.05).Conclusion miR-100 as a new biomarker, has a certain value for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.
