On the Conversion Methods of AutoCAD data to GIS data

Abstract

At present,GIS industry is in a period of vigorous development.Data analysed and processed by geographic information system(GIS)is ont only the targets,but also an application base of a geographical information system.However,most of the historical surveying data is AutoCAD format.How to input quickly and effectively the massive GIS data is one of the most important tasks in studying the application of geographic information systems.This paper introduces several data formats in AutoCAD and GIS and deals with several commonly used methods of converting the AutoCAD data format to GIS data format,and compares them.
