Expression and function of FGF7 and its receptor in mammary gland of mouse

Abstract

To invest the dynamic changes in expression and localization of fibroblast growth factor 7(FGF7)and its receptor in mammals development, lactation and involution; reveal the relationships between the expression of FGF7 and its receptor and the function, immunofluorescence assay were used to detect FGF7 by a laser scanning confocal microscope firstly in mammary gland slices of Kunming mice, explants of mammary gland were cultured to invest the function of FGF7 in mammary gland. The results revealed that: FGF7 mainly localized in the peripheral of mammary gland ductal epithelial cells and acinar cells , and a weak expression in matrix. KGFR occurred mainly in the ductal epithelial cells and acinar cells, and a weak expression in matrix in the individual time.The expression of FGF7 was highest in involution 4d and the expression of KGFR was highest in lactation 4d. Except virgin and pregnancy, FGF7 treatment could significantly induced mammary epithelial to produce KGFR.FGF7 promoted epithelial proliferation and differentiation of mouse mammary and reduce the apoptosis in mammary epithelial cell.
