Abstract
A method for the determination of Molybdenum in Uranium-Molybdenum alloy by EDTA back titration was described. After being digested by aqua regia, uranium was extracted by TBP-hydrogenated kerosene. To reduce Mo6+to Mo5+,hydroxyl lammonium chloride was added into the residual solution and then the solution was subsequently complexed with an excess amount of EDTA.The excessive EDTA was titrated with zinc standard solution. The amount of molybdenum was calculated according to the above results. The experiment conditions were optimized and satisfactory results were obtained. The result showed that the relative standard deviation(RSD)was 1.4%.
