Abstract

Objective To explore effect and mechanisms of acupuncture in decreasing blood pressure. Methods Sixty cases of hypertension were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,30 cases in each group. The patients in the treatment group were treated by acupuncture at Fengchi (GB 20) and Xingjian (LR 2),and the control group by oral administration of compound Jiangya tablet. Blood pressure,TC,TG and ET contents, and endothelial dependent diastolic function were detected before and after treatment. Results In the treatment group, the blood pressure, and TG and ET contents significantly decreased, and the endothelial dependent dia-stolic function improved with very significant difference as compared with those in the control group ( P 0.01). Conclusion Acupuncture therapy have a significant effect in decreasing blood pressure, and improve function and endocrine of vascular endothelium.
