Dao and Chinese Philosophy

Abstract

It is a spiritual demand of the human being to explore the ultimate existence of the universe and life. The thought of Chinese people to the ultimate existence is Dao. So, Dao is a basic form of Chinese philosophy. To Chinese people, Dao is ultimate existence of everything of the universe, and the starting point of constructing cultural knowledge, and the basic point of the supporting values system. Dao of the Chinese philosophy has the distinguishing features of the unity of the heaven and human being, of the same source of substance and faction, and permeating with ancient and modern thoughts.
