Abstract

A novel scheme to Direction-of-Arrival(DOA) estimation for wideband source is proposed in this letter to cope with the scenarios where the number of the sensor is less than that of the source.Like the traditional methods, the wideband sources are first decomposed into narrowband portions.By treating the difference of frequency in each frequency bin as the difference of the interval of sensors,a new array with multi-sensor can be obtained.Consequently, the DOAs can be estimated by exploiting the traditional narrowband signal subspace techniques.Focussing transformation and preliminary estimation of DOAs are not needed.DOAs of multiple wideband sources can be estimated using only two sensors.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed methods to deal with the circumstances with more wideband sources than sensors.
