Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of exercise training on neural function and expression of Sema3A in rats with focal cerebral ischemia(FCI).Methods A total of 30 male SD rats were evenly randomized to three groups as sham-operation group,control group and training group.A model of left middle cerebral artery occlusion for 2 hours was created by intraluminal thread method of rats in the training group;model in the sham-operation group was created by the method as used in the tra-ining group,except blocking the middle cerebral artery.The rats in training group were offered swimming training for 30 min 24 hours after reperfusion for 3 days;those in sham-operation and control groups received no swimming training.MENZIES score,grasp strength and equilibrium function were assessed,the rats were then executed,ischemic side cerebral cortex and hippocampus taken,the expression of Sema3A-mRNA detected by using RT-PCR.Results The score of MENZIES in the rats in training group was lower than that in the control,and higher than that in the training group,the differences being significant(F=177.75;q=19.49,6.00;P0.05);the score of grasp and balance was higher than that in the control,and lower than that in the sham-operation group(F=57.63,117.00;q=7.25-12.46;P0.05).The expression of Sema3A-mRNA in training group was lower than that in the control,but higher than sham-operation group(F=62.873,78.095;q=8.35-9.10;P0.05).Conclusion Exercise training can reduce the expression of Sema3A-mRNA,thus promote the regeneration of axons and improve the function of damaged nerve.
