A Comparative Study of Rhyme Schemes of Wen Tingjun's Poems and Ci

Abstract

Through a comparative study, some similar artistic features can be found in the rhyme schemes of Wen Tingjun's poems and Ci. The rhyme pattern of Wen's Ci bears some resemblance with that of classical poems (including yuefu songs). That's, yuefu songs are the sources of the rhyme pattern of Wen's Ci. On the other hand, Wen's poems and Ci also have respective aesthetic features. The rhyme schemes of Wen's poems are neat and rigorous; while the rhyme schemes of Wen's Ci are rather changeable and flexible.
