Abstract
The wheat seeds were soaked in the solution with different concentration of Cadmium (Cd 2+ ). The results showed as follows: the wheat seed germination and seedling growth were inhibited when [Cd 2+ ]10 -4 mol/L and the root growth was inhibited when [Cd 2+ ]10 -5 mol/L. The difference was significant with the contrast. With the increase of Cd 2+ concentration, the root activity reduced and the cell membrane permeability and MDA content increased, root shoot ratio reduced.
