Abstract
Objective To summarize the therapeutic effects of superselective renal artery embolization for renal traumatic hemorrhage. Methods 12 cases of traumatic renal hemorrhage admitted from January 2001 to December 2006 were underwent superselective renal artery embolization,in whom 7 suffered from lithotomy of renal lithiasis and hydronephrosis,2 of renal needle biopsy,2 of renal blunt injury, and 1 of stab wound. After superselective renal artery intubated,5 patients were given spring collar,6 were given PVA,and 1 were sent silk thread for embolization. Results Angiography confirmed injured vessel were renal segmental arteries and/or their branches. The bleeding was ceased immediately after embolization. All the cases were followed up for 1~3 months,no side effects such as renal vascular hypertension were observed. Conclusions Superselective renal artery embolization is considered one of the best choices for the treatment of traumatic renal hemorrhage.
