Abstract
Sea water quality status in the late 1990s in Dalian Bay was analysed according to the survey data. In the Bay, the main pollutants were inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus. There was a characteristic that the east sea water quality precedes west. Because of serious organic pollution and eutrophication the water quality was worsening near Chou Shui Tao. In comparison with the early 1990s, the contents of inorganic nitrogen and inorganic phosphorus increased in a part of the sea. Total mass control of pollutants discharge should be carried out according to the seawater it self purified abilily for the pollutants.
