Abstract

Objective To evaluate the PCR detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae(Mp)value in clinical application. Methods 213 cases of community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)in patients with clinical confirmed 62 cases of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection in the double throat swab, serum samples, respectively by PCR(Polymerase chain reaction)amplification of Mycoplasma pneumoniae nucleic acid and serological testing(IgM),culture, the use of fourfold table χ2 test comparing the test results in three ways. Results The three methods of detection of Mp-positive rates were 87.1%,72.6%,45.2%,and serum-PCR method with no significant difference(P0.05);and culture there was a significant difference(P0.01);serum law and culture had more significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion PCR detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae than culture, higher serum method sensitivity and specificity, especially for early infection, early clinical diagnosis and treatment is important.
