Abstract
Objective To study the molecular epidemiology of rotavirus diarrhea in hospitalization children in Luocheng County,Guangxi,2010~2012.Methods A hospital-based surveillance program for rotavirus was set up among children under five years old with acute diarrhea in Guangxi,Hospitalization information and fecal specimens were collected and rotavirus were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Positive specimens were further genotyped by RT-PCR.Results During three years period of surveillance,360(43.01%) rotavirus isolations were detected among 837 collective specimens.95.28% of the rotavirus positive diarrhea cases occurred among children less than two years old,the majority of positive rotavirus antigen detection time was from November to next April, positive detection rate was from 44.54%~70.49%.In 2010~2012,the majority of G genotype was serotype G2、 G2、 G1 respectively, and the majority of P genotype was P[4]、 P[4]、 P[8] respectively.G2P[4](33.98%) and G1P[8](25.71%) combination was the majority of circulating genotypes. Conclusions Rotavirus was the major cause of acute diarrhea among 5 years old children in Guangxi, the molecular epidemiology surveillance results of rotavirus showed the diversity and regularity. Thus,it is necessary to conduct long term rotavirus surveillance in Guangxi.
