Abstract
A tribological research advance in recent years fOr PEEK and its composites are described as following three aspects: Research about friction and wear properties; Research about the transferred film formed during sliding; Research about the wear debris. The tribological properties of bearing and gear of PEEK composites are discussed. The comparison of tribological tests for the plasma treatment specimen and the grain-reinforced specimen of PEEK and its composites is made. It is shown that the tribological properties are improved a lot. These research are useful fOr the industrial applications of PEEK and its composites.
