Abstract
Objective To study clinical outcome of distal radius fracture associated with distal radioulnar joint(DRUJ) injury. Methods 46 cases of distal radius fracture associated with DRUJ injury treated with closed reduction cast fixation were evaluated. Results Fractures were healed in all cases, and all patients were followed up in duration of 9-13 months(mean 11.3 months).Wrist function was evaluated with Gartland and Werley score system. The results of the recovery were 46 excellent,3 good and 3 bad, showing that 93.4%of patients restored excellent function of wrist and forearm. Conclusion Closed reduction cast fixation is fit for acute DRUJ.Bad outcome was associated with recurrent DRUJ luxation.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
