Abstract
Denervation will unavoidably result in atrophy of the innervated muscles, apoptosis is considered to be one of the atrophy mechanisms. The mechanisms of apoptosis in denervation induced muscle atrophy were mainly discussed in cytology, molecular biology and genomics aspects. By expatiating the correlative factors and pathways of apoptosis in denervation induced muscle atrophy, we introduced the research evolution of apoptosis. The detailed mechanism of apoptosis, genes expression, regulation and the relationship between apoptosis and atrophy are still not well known. However, with the further investigation, more and more scientific evidence would be revealed.
