Abstract
AIM: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of amlodipine on renal hypertension. METHODS: Renal hypertensive 96 patients were divided into amlodipine group [n=54, M 30, F 24; age (38±s 19) a] were given 10 mg, po, qm×6 wk; and combined group [n=42, M 26, F 16; age (41±20) a] were given enalapril 10_20 mg, po, qm×6 wk, and with amlodipine was the same as described above. RESULTS: The total effective rate were 80% and 98% with only (42% and 80% for severe hypertension) in amlodipine group and combined group, respectively(P0.01). CONCLUSION: Amlodipine is effective and safe for the treament of mild or moderate renal hypertension, it is necessary to combine with enalapril to treat severe ranal hypertension.
