Abstract
Aim To explore the reliability of trans-craninal Doppler(TCD)and digital subtraction angiography(DSA)in patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods 42 cases with TIA were chosen to analyze and compare the results of TCD and DSA.Results DSA showed that 31 patients with TIA were found stenosis or occlusion of blood vessels(73.8%);while abnormalities of intracranial arteries were detected by TCD in 35 patients with TIA(83.3%).According to DSA results, the sensitivity of TCD in diagnosing internal carotid artery system vascular stenosis was 91.8%,specificity 95.0%,with a coincidence ratio of 94.6%.The sensitivity of TCD in diagnosing basal arterial vascular stenosis was 82.0%,specificity 88.2%,with a coincidence ratio of 86.9%,compared with DSA results. Conclusion The combined examination of TCD and DSA can provide objective clue for cerebral vascular disease.
