Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in chronic atrophic gastritis and normal gastric mucosa. Methods The expressions of CTGF in chronic atrophic gastritis(20 cases) and normal gastric mucosa(10 cases) were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression of CTGF was higher in the chronic atrophic gastritis(75.0%,15/20) than that of normal gastric mucosa(20.0%,2/10)(P0.05).The expression of CTGF was highly correlated with the expression in intestinal metaplasia of chronic gastritis than in simply chronic atrophic gastritis. Conclusion CTGF protein can be used for the detection of precancerous lesions of gastric cancer screening, not only does it increase awareness of the incidence of gastric cancer but also it has gastric cancer prevention.
