Abstract

In the present study. expression of Lactate Dehydrogenase Isozymes (LDH) during embryogensis of Dianchi High-back crucian carp was analysed by polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis. The results were as follows: 1) Four isozymes were present at all developmental stages and may function in general metabolism. not relating to differentiation of cells. 2) Some new isozymes appeared at Heartbeat stage and Liver forming stage, respectively. it suggests that the embryonic gene have begun to express. 3) One fundamental difference in expression of LDH isozyme existing between this hexaploidized, gynogenesis fish and its tetraploid relatives was the increse of the number of isozyme bands. The increase of band numbers could perhaps result from expression of the duplicated genes undergone mutation.
