A Study of the Action of the Compound Verb of Direction behind a Verb

Abstract

According to the strengthening and weakening of action, movement and direction of the verb and its following compound verb of direction, we can judge which one is more qualified to be the main verb predicate of the sentence in which the predicate is the VC structure. It is a good explanation for the semantic core of the VC structure in a sentence.
