Abstract

Objective To investigate and evaluate the clinical effects of cryotherapy in the treatment of Coats′ disease.Methods A total of 10 patients(11 eyes) with Coats′ disease grade 3 underwent cryotherapy.The visual acuity,retinal detachment and abnormal retinal vessels were determined.Results Fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)showed that abnormal retinal blood vessels were destroyed and the retina re-attached in all eyes.Also the visual acuity was significantly improved.Conclusion Cryotherapy has a fairly good effect in the treatment of Coats disease.
