Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture and moving cupping in treating insomnia.Method A hundred and six insomnia patients were randomized into an acupuncture-cupping group(n=42),an electroacupuncture group(n=32),and a medication group(n=32).The acupuncture-cupping group was treated by electroacupuncture plus moving cupping;the electroacupuncture group was by electroacupuncture treatment;the medication group was by orally-taken medication.Therapeutic efficacy was evaluated,as well as the relapse rates in 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment.Result The total effective rate was 90.5% in the acupuncture-cupping group, versus 75.0% in the electroacupuncture group and 62.5% in the medication group, and the differences among the three groups were statistically significant(P0.05);difference between the acupuncture-cupping group and electroacupuncture group was statistically significant(P0.05);difference between the electroacupuncture group and medication group was statistically insignificant(P0.05);difference between acupuncture-cupping group and medication group was statistically significant(P0.05).The relapse rates in the acupuncture-cupping group, electroacupuncture group, and medication group were respectively 15.8%,20.8% and 55.0% in 4 weeks after treatment, and were 18.4%,25.0% and 80.0% in 8 weeks after treatment. Conclusion It reveals that the total effective rate of acupuncture-cupping group is superior to that of electroacupuncture group and medication group, and the relapse rate of acupuncture-cupping group is lower than that of medication group and electroacupuncture group in 4 weeks after treatment;the relapse rate of acupuncture-cupping group is approaching to that of the elctroacupuncture group, but yet both of them were lower than that of the medication group.
