Abstract
Based on the analysis of the geological Characteristics of the shallow lenticular gas reservoirs, their performance characteristics and the effect of water production on their development results are discussed. And the major factors which should be considered in determining rational individual well gas producing rate are put forward. Economic thickness limit of gas reservoirs is calculated using dynamic break even principle for the first time, and this computation method overcomes the limitation of static methods. The research results indicate that good economic benefit can be achieved in the development of the shallow lenticular gas reservoirs as long as reasonable production modes and gas producing rate are taken based on understanding of the functions of bottom water during production. The development of this type of gas reservoirs should be based on drilling structural high, and before watering, balance and stable production makes gas water interface advance uniformly. After watering, appropriate measures should be taken promptly to prevent to much liquid accumulating in bottom hole. The research results can be used as reference to the development of similar gas reservoirs.
