Abstract

The paper uses Chinese provincial panel data, takes the educational attainment as the sole criterion to level the heterogeneous human capital, analyzes the relations among the high-level human capital and related variables in the eastern, central and western region of China, and studies the high human capital's role and contribution in the production process,as well as the interaction between the economic system. The results show that(1) the bigger the ratio between the accumulation of human capital and physical capital accumulation of the three regions, the bigger the proportion of senior workers,(2) the higher the physical capital depreciation rate of the three regions, the higher the proportion of senior workers, which means the increasing of the depreciation rate of the physical capital is not conducive to the accumulation of physical capital, but it is conducive to the production of high-level workers,(3) the required costs of forming high-level labor in three regions have similar trends from 2000 to 2009.
