Abstract

Objective To investigate the different reasons and methods for difficult urethral catheterization and catheter removal.Methods Between September 2011 and December 2012,causes and management of 63 cases of Foley catheterization failures and 3 cases of catheter removal failures were retrospectively analyzed by recording different treatment and complications.Results According to different reasions,all cases succeeded in catheterization and catheter removals after appropriate treatment.No severe complications occurred.Conclusions Before catheterization and catheter removal,detailed understanding of the patient ′ s medical history,physical examination and necessary measures were necessary,that can improve the success rate.
